Our commitment to excellence
Our plan for enhancing student learning in both our Rūmaki (immersion) and Auraki (mainstream) classes — four initiatives, one shared commitment.

What we are working on this year
We are excited to share our plans for enhancing student learning in both our Rūmaki (immersion) and Auraki (mainstream) classes. Our key initiatives strengthen the way we teach, the way we communicate with whānau, and the way our tamariki lead.
Each initiative is owned by a team, measured through the year, and reported back to whānau — in the pānui, at hui, and through Hero.
Te tomokanga — where every school day begins.

Kōrero mai, kōrero atu — a two-way conversationStructured Literacy & Maths

Te tūāpapa — foundations that lastRangaranga Reo-ā-Ta
Promoting te reo Māori across all areas of school life — in the classroom, on the field, at the gate and in the office. Language lives when it is used.

Providing opportunities for student leadership and mentorship — so our senior tamariki leave kura ready to lead in their next school and their community.

Te ara
Delivered across both pathways
Every initiative runs in Rūmaki and Auraki alike. The language of instruction changes; the quality of teaching, the expectations and the care do not.

How we will know it is working
Progress is tracked through the year and shared openly — nothing in this plan is a promise we keep to ourselves.
Whānau engagement
Hero logins, hui attendance and response rates to learning stories.
Student progress
Structured literacy and maths assessment shifts, by pathway and by akomanga.
Language growth
Te reo use in class, at assembly and in whole-school moments, heard and counted.
Leadership in action
Roles taken up by Year 7 & 8 — and mentored roles alongside them.

This plan is our commitment to excellence in both pathways — and it is a shared one. Your voice shapes it at every hui, and every initiative is reported on in the pānui as the year unfolds. If you would like the detail, the full documents sit in our school documents library.
